Continuing its efforts to curb theft and other criminal activities in the district, Pulwama Police achieved a significant success by solving a theft case reported in Police Station Litter and arresting two accused persons involved in the commission of crime.
A Police spokesperson said that Police Station Litter received a complaint from Wood Venture regarding theft of poplar logs. Acting promptly on the complaint, a case FIR No. 41/2026 under section 303(2) BNS was registered and investigation was taken up.
During the course of investigation, police identified and arrested two accused persons namely Imtiyaz Ahmad Gorsee S/o Mohd Lateef Gorsee R/o Nagbal Yousmarg Budgam and Ishfaq Ahmad Gorsee S/o Mohd Abdullah Gorsee R/o Nagbal Yousmarg Budgam. On the basis of their disclosure, stolen poplar logs worth thousands of rupees were recovered and seized. A goods carrier vehicle bearing registration number JK18D-2556, used in the commission of crime, was also seized. Further investigation is in progress to ascertain the involvement of other persons in the case.
