Budgam : Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan Thursday chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress of the ongoing 100-day intensive Nasha Mukt Abhiyan in the district.

During the meeting, the DC took a detailed review of activities being carried out by various departments under the NashaMukt Abhiyan, emphasizing the need for sustained and coordinated efforts to eliminate drug abuse from society. He stressed that all stakeholders must work in close synergy to ensure the success of the initiative.

Threadbare discussions were held on awareness campaigns, community outreach programmes, and the role of educational institutions in sensitizing youth against the menace of drug abuse. The DC underscored the importance of involving local communities, youth groups, and institutions in spreading awareness and promoting a drug-free environment.

He directed all officers to intensify IEC activities, ensure wider public participation, and regularly monitor progress at the grassroots level. Departments were also instructed to share daily updates of their activities to maintain momentum and visibility of the campaign.

The DC called for a collective and proactive approach to make Budgam a drug-free district.

The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Budgam, Joint Director Planning, all Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs), Assistant Commissioner Police (ACP), Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Principals of all Degree Colleges, District Information Officer (DIO), District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO), Executive Officers (EOs) of all Municipal Committees and representatives from the School Education Department.
