CU Kashmir’sDeptt of Kashmiri holds academic planning workshop

Ganderbal :Department of Kashmiri, Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) organized a one-day academic planning workshop at Tulmulla campus here Wednesday which was aimed at strengthening curriculum development, research initiatives, and overall academic excellence.

The event, chaired by Prof. Muhammad Zaman Azurdah was also attended by prominent writers, literary figures, linguistic experts, and faculty members from various colleges to discuss the future of the Kashmiri language and literature. Prof. Shad Ramzan, Head of the Kashmiri Department, emphasized the significance of structured academic planning in improving higher education quality. He acknowledged the support of key university officials, including Vice-Chancellor Prof. A. Ravinder Nath and Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Shahid Rasool, in organizing the workshop. The workshop focused on revising the existing syllabus to enhance inclusivity, skill orientation, and relevance to contemporary needs. Experts contributed valuable insights on integrating modern teaching methodologies, utilizing digital tools, and promoting interdisciplinary approaches. They advocated for collaborative projects, increased publication output, and engagement in culturally significant translation work related to the Kashmiri language. Prof. Shahid Rasool highlighted the importance of making the Kashmiri language more learner-centric. He proposed initiatives such as mentorship programs, career guidance, and the organization of seminars and literary activities to promote intellectual growth among students. The workshop concluded with the drafting of a comprehensive academic roadmap that outlines both short-term and long-term goals for the department, aiming to enhance the educational framework and cultural significance of the Kashmiri language.
