In a decisive action against the illegal sale of medicines, J&K Police in Anantnag, in close coordination with the Drug Department, sealed a medical shop at Paibugh Mattan for violating prescribed norms.

The action was taken following credible inputs regarding the unlawful sale of medicines without valid prescriptions. During the inspection, the shop owner was found dispensing medicines without the mandatory prescription from a registered medical practitioner, thereby posing a serious risk to public health and safety. Taking cognizance of the violation, the authorities immediately sealed the establishment in accordance with relevant legal provisions. Further proceedings under applicable laws have been initiated against the erring individual..

J&K Police reiterates its commitment to safeguarding public health and urges all medical shop owners to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations governing the sale of medicines. The general public is also advised to report any such violations to the nearest police station so that timely action can be taken.
