Jammu: Director Panchayati Raj, J&K Sham Lal chaired a meeting to review the progress of different schemes and Development works.

He directed the District Authorities to immediately start work on the Panchayat Ghars allotted up to March 31, 2026 and complete the same within six months.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Secretary RD&PR Tahir Ahmad Magray; Under Secretary RD&PR, Arshad Noomani; Assistant Commissioners Panchayats; and Executive Engineers and other officers.

Progress review revealed that the land is available for 578 of 640 Ghars (90%), with 443 of 503 works taken up and 236 completed so far. He stressed accelerating execution, warning that delays lead to funding constraints and project spillovers.

Officers were instructed to commence all pending works without delay, resolve bottlenecks through coordination and fast-track sub judice cases. Performing ACPs were appreciated, while others were urged to improve.

The Chair also reviewed Panchayat Learning Centres, PPC campaign and Model Women-Friendly Panchayats. It was informed that  Q4 data uploading would begin shortly.

On the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, a 3-month focused drive was announced, with directions to submit clear action plans and ensure measurable grassroots outcomes.
