Deputy Chief Minister releases teaser of Dogri film “Shah Shahni”

Describes films as powerful medium to promote language, culture

JAMMU: Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary, today released the teaser of Dogri feature film Shah Shahni at Press Club Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that films are one of the most powerful mediums for promotion and preservation of language, culture and heritage. He appreciated the efforts of the filmmakers including its Director, Rajnesh Kumar Gupta for making a Dogri movie and highlighting the regional identity through cinema.
He stated that the government is implementing vigorous measures to support the film industry in Jammu and Kashmir and will extend all possible assistance to the filmmakers. He highlighted that the initiatives are being taken up to create a conducive environment for film production, including policy support and other incentives.
The Deputy Chief Minister underlined the importance of regional cinema in strengthening the cultural roots and connecting the younger generations with their linguistic heritage. He urged the people to watch and promote Dogri films so that the language continues to flourish.
Referring to Shah Shani, he expressed hope that the film will receive wide appreciation and attract large audiences. He said that the cinema has the potential to bridge the divide and showcase shared histories, emotions and cultural values.
Calling for collective efforts, he appealed the people from all communities to support Dogri cinema, adding that the language belongs to everyone irrespective of religion or background and is an integral part of the region’s identity.
The event witnessed the presence of senior officials, film personalities, media representatives and prominent citizens.
