In a firm action against the illegal sale and misuse of pharmaceutical drugs, Pulwama Police, in coordination with Drugs Control Department, conducted an inspection at Wanpora today.

A Police spokesperson said, During the inspection carried out by the Police Team Pulwama in coordination with the Drug Control Department, one medical shop was found operating in blatant violation of legal provisions. The shop was dealing in drugs without maintaining proper records, thereby posing a serious risk of misuse and illegal diversion of pharmaceutical substances.

Further inspection revealed that the sale and purchase of drugs were being carried out without maintaining mandatory records as required under law, in violation of the provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. Moreover, the establishment was found to be operating without a valid license.

Taking cognizance of these serious violations, the authorities sealed the medical shop on the spot. Further legal action has been initiated against the violator, identified as Manzoor Ahmad Ganai S/o Mohd Ismail Ganai R/o Wanpora, as per law.

Pulwama Police maintains a zero-tolerance policy against such violations and reiterates its commitment to the strict enforcement of laws regulating the sale and distribution of medicines.

All medical shop owners are advised to strictly adhere to prescribed norms, maintain proper records, and operate only with valid licenses, failing which strict action shall follow. The general public is urged to report any such illegal activities to the nearest police establishment.
