DC Ramban reviews preparedness for effective implementation of 100-Day NM Campaign

Ramban:Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan Thursday  chaired a meeting of senior officers to review preparedness for the upcoming 100-day intensive campaign under the NashaMukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan.

The campaign, aimed at eradicating drug abuse from the district and making Ramban drug-free, will be marked by a series of high-impact awareness programmes across the district. The mega inaugural function will be held on April 11 at the District headquarters, Sub-Divisions, Tehsil and Panchayat level in line with the UT-level event during which Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will flag off a mega padyatra from MA Stadium.

The Deputy Commissioner briefed all departments about their role and responsibilities in ensuring the successful implementation of the 100-day campaign. He issued strict directions to all officers to implement the NashaMukt campaign in mission mode and make it a mass movement through active public participation.

Emphasizing the need for a result-oriented approach, the Deputy Commissioner directed officers to ensure the involvement of students, youth, volunteers, civil society organisations, public representatives and the general public so that the campaign reaches every section of society.

The Deputy Commissioner said that drug abuse poses a serious threat to society and is adversely affecting the future of youth. He stressed that every section of society must come together to fight the menace of drugs and support efforts aimed at prevention, awareness and rehabilitation.

He further directed officers to identify victims of drug abuse within their areas and make sincere efforts towards their counselling, treatment and rehabilitation.

The meeting also discussed a series of activities planned under the campaign and reviewed the department-wise activity calendar prepared for the Abhiyaan. The Deputy Commissioner issued directions for launching an intensive IEC campaign across the district to maximize awareness and public outreach.

The meeting was attended by ADC Varunjeet Singh Charak, Addl. SP Mujeeb Ur Rehman, ACR Shoket Hayat Mattoo, CPO Dr.Shakeeb Ahmed Rather, SDM Banihal Mohammad NaseebBajraan, SDM Ramsoo Sayed Mazahir Hussain Shah, SDM Gool Imtiaz Ahmed, ACD Sheraz Ahmed, Tehsildars, BDOs, district and sectoral officers and other concerned officials.
