84 Bn CRPF inaugurates Pickle Ball Court in Ramban

Ramban : The 84 Bn CRPF celebrated ShauryaDiwasThursday  at its Tactical Headquarters Boom Ramban. During the function, Unit personnel, led by Commandant N Ranbir Singh, paid rich homage to the CRPF Martyrs.

Speaking at the function, the Commandant stated that on 09 Apr 1965, a small component of 02 Coys of 02nd Bn CRPF successfully repulsed the full-fledged attack of 01 Infantry Brigade of regular Pakistan Army at Sardar Post in the Rann of Kutch Gujarat killing 34 enemy Soldiers. Valour day is celebrated across the Nation in CRPF to honour the exemplary bravery, sacrifice and devotion to the duty displayed by the 06 CRPF personnel who attained Martyrdom in the above battle for the Nation.

Later, the First Lady 84 Bn CRPF, N Gayabati Devi inaugurated the First Pickle Ball Court in CRPF in J&K and Kendriya Police Kalyan Bandar Building at its Tactical Headquarters 84 Bn CRPF Boom Ramban. Pickleball is a new game gaining popularity across the globe.

The inauguration function was attended by Commandant 84 Bn,   Second in Command Vikram Singh, Officers, families, personnel of 84 Bn CRPF and Media personnel.  The Commandant 84 Bn stated that this court and other sports facilities are developed to promote sports and fitness among the Unit personnel and local populace. He also assured that, in the coming days, the sports facilities and the new games will be provided to the youths and students of the local area, through periodical exchange programs.

An exhibition Pickleball match was played after the inauguration. 84 Bn CRPF Boom Ramban already had 02 Badminton courts, 01 Volleyball Court, 01 Lawn Tennis court, 01 Modern Indoor Gym and 01 Open Air Gym to ensure fitness of its personnel.
