The Meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Superintending Engineer, Er. Ambreen Anjum, Executive Engineer Water Works Division, Aijaz Rafiq, Water Supply Master Plan Division, Muzamil Ahmad, Executive Engineer, I&FC, Executive Engineer, UEED, Executive Engineer, Ground Water, Executive Engineer PHE Mechanical Division and other concerned Officers.

At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner was given a detailed overview through a detailed presentation highlighting the progress of different projects under the scheme aimed to augment and boost the water supply in the district.

The DC was informed that 19 projects have been approved for Srinagar City under AMRUT 2.0, with work progressing in full swing and several major water supply projects nearing completion to boost and augment water supply in Srinagar District.

On the occasion, the DC conducted an in-depth review of each project, focusing on critical parameters including infrastructure quality, operational efficiency and citizen-centric outcomes. He emphasized the importance of quality execution and strict adherence to timelines to ensure that residents benefit at the earliest.

Highlighting the significance of AMRUT 2.0, the DC stated that the scheme prioritizes water security for urban areas through sustainable and modern solutions. He  observed that the completion of key water supply projects will strengthen existing networks, enhance groundwater availability and supplement traditional water sources to meet the growing demand of Srinagar’s expanding population.

The DC directed the concerned Officers to ensure that all projects are completed with enhanced functionality, durability and efficiency. He stressed the need for regular monitoring and reporting mechanisms to maintain transparency and accountability throughout project execution. He also issued actionable directions to expedite pending works and address operational challenges, ensuring completion within the stipulated timeframe.

He directed for coordinated inter-departmental synergy to resolve impending bottlenecks, if any, to further expedite the completion.
