Jammu : Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Information Technology, Transport, Youth Services & Sports, Satish Sharma, Tuesday convened an extensive public outreach meeting at Khour, furthering his initiative to enhance public engagement and address local concerns.

The Minister emphasized the government’s dedication to responsive, transparent, and citizen-centric governance during his interaction with local residents. He highlighted the importance of outreach programs in bridging the gap between the administration and the public, particularly in rural and border areas.

At a comprehensive review meet  Satish Sharma assessed the pace of work on ongoing development works and departmental functions. He urged officials to adopt a proactive approach in addressing public grievances and ensuring timely resolution of genuine concerns, underscoring that accountability and accessibility are fundamental to effective governance. The Minister stressed the significance of inclusive development, particularly for regions like Khour, which require targeted attention due to their geographical and strategic importance. He instructed officers to collaborate closely with local representatives to ensure the effective implementation of government schemes. During the meeting, the public raised several critical issues, including ration distribution, transport service efficiency, road connectivity, drinking water supply, youth infrastructure, digital service delivery, and local development gaps. In response, Satish Sharma assured that all legitimate concerns would be addressed in a phased, transparent, and results-oriented manner. Additionally, the Minister announced the establishment of strict monitoring mechanisms to guarantee that the benefits of government schemes reach the intended beneficiaries promptly and without discrimination. Senior officers from various departments were present and were directed to take immediate follow-up actions on the issues raised.
