Dear Editor,
I want to publish my view through columns of your leading newspaper in Kashmir on future of ecotourism in India . Below mentioned are my views on the subject:-
Dying Soul Of Ecotourism In India
The relentless commodification of our last pristine landscapes is nothing short of ecological vandalism. We treat bio-corridors like theme parks ignoring that human intrusion disrupts critical carbon sequestration.Take the Himalayas for example where footfall has surged by 40% in a decade the result is a trail of plastic & receding glaciers. When we permit pleasure activities in eco-sensitive zones we trade millennia of biodiversity for transient revenue. Statistics suggest that nearly 75% of terrestrial environments are severely altered by human activity. We must designate biological hotspots as absolute no-go zones.Governments must strictly enforce inviolable zones & cancel destructive permits. Stop the rot before “fragile” becomes “extinct.”
