Baramulla,April 07:In a major push towards youth empowerment and employment generation, the Dagger Division of the Indian Army, in collaboration with the District Employment & Counselling Centre (DECC) Baramulla and several leading government and private sector organizations, successfully organized the third edition of the Mega Job Fair in Baramulla on April 7, 2026.

The two-day event witnessed an overwhelming response on its opening day, with over 1,800 job seekers participating and more than 550 candidates shortlisted, surpassing figures from previous editions.

The event was formally inaugurated by the Commander Dagger Gunners in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid, and MLA Baramulla, Javed Hassan Beigh.

Bringing together reputed companies, corporate houses, and skill development institutions, the job fair offered diverse employment opportunities across sectors such as information technology, healthcare, hospitality, banking, retail, manufacturing, automobiles, and marketing services. On-the-spot interviews, career counselling sessions, and skill development workshops were conducted to guide and prepare candidates for the job market. Notably, several companies from Bengaluru also conducted interviews online.

In addition, more than 15 government departments participated by showcasing various self-employment schemes and subsidized loan programs, encouraging entrepreneurship and financial independence among the youth.

Addressing the gathering, the Commander Dagger Gunners highlighted the Indian Army’s commitment to community development and youth empowerment, stating that the initiative aims to provide meaningful opportunities for the talented youth of Baramulla to build a secure and prosperous future.

MLA Baramulla Javed Hassan Beigh appreciated the efforts of the Indian Army, emphasizing that such initiatives play a crucial role in job creation and regional development.

Among the beneficiaries, Ms. Hazik Hilal, a recent graduate, expressed her gratitude after securing a position at Hotel Sarovar Portico. She described the job fair as a life-changing opportunity that boosted her confidence and career prospects.

The Mega Job Fair concluded with hundreds of placements and numerous candidates enrolled in training and skill enhancement programs. The initiative once again underlined the Indian Army’s continued dedication to fostering peace, progress, and prosperity in Jammu & Kashmir.
