India Ready To Cross LoC To Maintain Its Honour: Rajnath Singh

New Delhi, April 7 (UNI) Days after Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khwaja Asif threatened to strike Kolkata if India carried out any “false flag operations”, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh invoked the decisive 1971 war and the birth of Bangladesh to caution Islamabad against escalating tensions.

“Pakistan’s Defence Minister should not have given such a provocative statement. 55 years ago, they suffered the consequences when Pakistan was divided into two parts. If they try to cast an eye on Bengal, only God knows how many parts Pakistan will be divided into this time,” Singh said.

On Saturday, Asif had said that Pakistan would attack India’s Kolkata if the neighbour attempted any “false flag operations”.

“If India tries to stage any false flag operation this time, then God willing, we will take it to Kolkata. If India plans some false-flag operation through their own men or through the Pakistani people in their detention by planting bodies somewhere and claiming they were terrorists who had done so and so, Pakistan will take it to Kolkata,” Asif has said while speaking to media in Sialkot.

Earlier, addressing a Sainik Samman Sammelan in Kerala, Singh hailed Operation Sindoor, which he said “brought Pakistan to its knees in just 22 minutes,” and warned that India’s response would be “unprecedented” and “decisive” if Pakistan attempted any misadventure.

Amidst the ongoing conflict in West Asia, Singh had said, “Our neighbour, in the current situation, can commit any misadventure. If it does so, India’s action will be unprecedented and decisive.”

India launched Operation Sindoor in early May 2025 as a calibrated, intelligence-driven response to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, in which 26 civilians were killed in Jammu and Kashmir.

In the highly secretive operation, India carried out strikes against 9 terror camps of Hizb-ul-Mujahidin (HM), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) located in both Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. It included Markaz Subhan Allah, Bahawalpur – JeM, Markaz Taiba, Muridke – LeT, Sarjal, Tehra Kalan – JeM, Mehmoona Joya, Sialkot – HM, Markaz Ahle Hadith, Barnala – LeT, Markaz Abbas, Kotli – JeM, Maskar Raheel Shahid, Kotli – HM, Shawai Nalla Camp, Muzaffarabad – LeT, and Syedna Bilal Camp, Muzaffarabad – JeM
