Kochi, April 6 (UNI) Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has maintained uninterrupted nationwide supply of petrol, diesel, and LPG, while intensifying enforcement measures to curb malpractices in distribution.

The company reported sales of 38,986 kilolitres (over 3.8 crore litres) of petrol and 69,357 kilolitres (over 6.9 crore litres) of diesel on April 4, 2026, serving more than 1.94 crore customers across the country, a release said.

To ensure smooth logistics, 9,951 fuel tankers were deployed to retail outlets, facilitating timely deliveries.

In the LPG segment, HPCL delivered 14.4 lakh cylinders on the same day, maintaining normal supply levels. The company also supplied 31,786 units of 5-kg free trade LPG cylinders and 2,383 units of 2-kg cylinders, reinforcing its commitment to consistent and reliable service.

HPCL stated that domestic LPG availability remains stable and sufficient despite ongoing geopolitical developments, with distribution continuing to receive top operational priority.

The company has encouraged customers to use digital platforms such as IVRS, SMS, missed call services, HP PAY, and WhatsApp for refill bookings. Around 94 per cent of LPG bookings are now made through these channels. Deliveries are secured באמצעות DAC/OTP-based authentication to ensure safe and verified transactions.

For customer support, HPCL remains accessible via social media, its web portal, and toll-free helpline (1800-2333-555).

Meanwhile, the company has intensified enforcement drives to prevent irregularities. Between March 14 and April 4, 2026, over 4,028 inspections were conducted, leading to action against 53 distributors, including suspension of 20 distributorships.

In coordination with other oil marketing companies and state governments, authorities carried out around 653 raids, registered 40 FIRs, and seized more than 3,163 LPG cylinders.

Reassuring consumers, HPCL said there is no shortage of LPG and urged customers to avoid panic bookings, ignore rumours, and rely only on official communication.

The company reiterated its commitment to ensuring seamless fuel and LPG availability, transparency in distribution, and strict action against malpractices.
