Says “Govt committed to public welfare, robust development”

Jammu :: Speaker Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary Saturday inaugurated vital single span RCC Bridge and allied works at Bus Stand, Jammu.

Terming the bridge a significant utility for all regions of Jammu and Kashmir, the Deputy Chief Minister, who was accompanied by local MLA Yudhvir Sethi, said that it will enhance the mobility and transport facilities for the people of  J&K. He said that the bridge, damaged during last year floods, was reconstructed in a record time.

“The bridge was not merely a structure but a lifeline for livelihoods, transport and connectivity across Jammu, Kashmir and the Chenab Valley,” maintained the Deputy CM.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that the government is committed to public welfare and robust development being carried out across the Union Territory.

Addressing a gathering of locals, members from transport and markets associations and other stakeholders, the Deputy Chief Minister highlighted his determination to infrastructure development and public welfare with the successful reconstruction and inauguration of a vital bridge in Jammu.

He also acknowledged MLA Yudhvir Sethi’s persistent efforts in ensuring timely completion of the project.

Recalling the devastating floods that had washed away the bridge a few months ago, the Deputy Chief Minister noted the sense of helplessness among the stakeholders and the urgent need to restore it.

The Deputy Chief Minister also assured the stakeholders that their other concerns, such as parking issues, traffic regulation and operational challenges at the bus stand, would be addressed promptly. He said that despite challenges, the government has prioritized  to ease the public difficulties and deliver on its promises.

MLA Yudhvir Sethi and members from stakeholders also spoke on the occasion and expressed their appreciation for the Deputy Chief Minister and concerned department for ensuring time bound completion of the ambitious project.
