Srinagar: Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Anil Chauhan on Saturday reviewed the operational preparedness of the Chinar Corps during his visit to strategically significant areas in North Kashmir, officials said.

During the visit, the CDS assessed the prevailing security landscape and operational posture along the Line of Control (LoC), and commended the formation for its “exemplary preparedness, doctrinal coherence and resolute professionalism.” At Baramulla, he was also briefed on future force application and induction of advanced technologies.

Addressing officers, Gen Chauhan stressed that the nature of warfare is undergoing rapid transformation, calling for a shift from a domain-centric approach to integrated multi-domain operations.

He underlined the need for seamless coordination across land, air, maritime, cyber, space, and cognitive domains to achieve decisive outcomes in modern conflicts.

The CDS emphasized the importance of jointness and called for accelerated joint training, harmonized doctrines, and interoperable command and control structures to ensure synchronised operations across all domains.

He also emphasised the need to counter emerging threats through technological adaptation, cognitive resilience and integrated preparedness.

“Future readiness must be anchored in foresight, innovation and a unified warfighting philosophy, backed by a whole-of-nation approach,” he said.

Gen Chauhan urged all ranks to sustain operational excellence and remain prepared for the full spectrum of future conflicts.

He also interacted with civil administration officials and other stakeholders in Baramulla, reviewing ongoing efforts towards nation-building in the region.
