According to a government order issued by the Home Department, Khajuria, who was serving as Commandant of JKAP-4 Security Battalion at the time, is currently posted as Commandant of the 1st Border Battalion, Jammu.
The order, numbered 185-Home of 2026 dated March 25, states that the suspension has been ordered pending enquiry into the matter.
“Pending enquiry in the matter of misappropriation of GP funds and income tax deductions of police personnel of JKAP-4 Security Battalion, Shri Sanjeev Kumar Khajuria, IPS… is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect,” the order reads.
It further states that during the suspension period, the officer shall remain attached with Police Headquarters, Jammu and Kashmir.
The order has been issued by the Home Department by direction of the Lieutenant Governor.
