Gund : The 118 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Friday concluded a one-month free tailoring and sewing training programme for local women and girls in Gund under its Civic Action Programme (CAP–2026).
A total of 30 participants successfully completed the course, which was aimed at equipping them with practical skills for sustainable livelihoods. The training was conducted by a reputed and authorized agency, providing hands-on instruction in sewing machine operation, garment stitching, and basic tailoring techniques. Participants were also guided on how to start small-scale self-employment ventures.
The initiative focused on empowering local women by enabling them to explore income-generating opportunities and become self-reliant. Throughout the training period, the participants demonstrated enthusiasm, discipline, and a strong commitment to learning.
Officials noted that the successful completion of the programme marks another step toward community development and youth empowerment in the region. Such initiatives also help strengthen trust and cooperation between security forces and the local population. The CRPF reiterated its commitment to fostering peace, stability, and socio-economic progress through community-oriented programmes under the Civic Action Programme.
