Residents reported brief but noticeable shaking, prompting many to rush outdoors as a precaution. No casualties or damage have been reported so far.
“People were startled as the ground shook for a few seconds. Everyone rushed out of their homes as a precaution,” said a resident of Srinagar’s Lal Chowk area.
An official from the Disaster Management Authority said, “Although the epicentre was in Afghanistan, the tremors were felt across the valley. We are monitoring the situation closely and advising residents to remain calm.”
