DC Samba calls or timely intervention to help children with special needs

Jammu :Deputy Commissioner Samba, Ayushi Sudan Thursday advocated for early identification and timely intervention to help children with special needs.

The DC was speaking at the World Autism Awareness Day 2026 programme held at Muskan Foundation- Vijaypur. She also inaugurated an Early Intervention Centre on the occasion.   The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, parents, staff members and officers from different departments. a inaugurated the Early Intervention Centre

The Deputy Commissioner interacted with the students of the centre and took a comprehensive review of the vocational and non-vocational training being imparted to them. She observed various activities being conducted at the centre and appreciated the dedicated efforts of the institution in nurturing the abilities and talents of specially-abled children.

The Deputy Commissioner expressed satisfaction over the visible positive growth and development of the students. She lauded the cheerful, inclusive and supportive environment maintained by the staff, stating that such an atmosphere plays a vital role in the overall well-being and confidence building of the children.

While inspecting the Early Intervention Centre, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of early identification and timely intervention to help children with special needs. She hoped that the centre shall act as a strong foundation to enable children to lead more independent and fulfilling lives. She further stressed that the happiness, dignity and well-being of the students should remain the primary objective of all initiatives undertaken for their welfare.

The Deputy Commissioner also complimented the Muskan Foundation and the Social Welfare Department for making sustained and committed efforts to empower specially-abled children and providing them with quality support services.

 

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner felicitated the students for their achievements to boost their morale and encouraged them to continue working towards their goals with confidence and determination. She also extended her best wishes to the students, their parents and the staff members for their continued efforts and dedication.

 

The programme concluded with a renewed commitment towards creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for children with special needs.
