“Control rooms set up for constant monitoring, interaction with states/UTs on prices & enforcement of Essential Commodities Act”
Sufficient Stock Of Fertilizers, Crop Seeds, Agrochemicals Available For Kharif Season

New Delhi: The Prime Minister chaired a special meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) to review measures taken by various ministries and departments and discuss further initiatives in the context of the ongoing West Asia conflict.
The Cabinet Secretary briefed about actions taken to ensure supply of petroleum products, particularly LNG/LPG, and sufficient power availability. Sources are being diversified for the procurement of LPG and LNG from different countries. The Prime Minister assessed the availability of critical needs for the common man, including the availability of fertilizers for the Kharif and Rabi seasons, and emphasized the need to safeguard citizens from the impact of the conflict. The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of smooth flow of authentic information to the public to prevent misinformation and rumor mongering. Key Insights: The government is taking proactive measures to address the challenges posed by the ongoing West Asia conflict. This includes diversifying sources for energy and fertilizer supplies, ensuring adequate power availability, and monitoring the prices of essential commodities.
The Government is also enhancing coordination and communication across central, state, and district levels to effectively disseminate information and raise public awareness. The Prime Minister has directed all concerned departments to take necessary steps to ameliorate the problems faced by citizens and affected sectors. Notable Findings: The LPG prices for domestic consumers have remained the same, and efforts are being made to curb hoarding and black marketing of LPG. Initiatives have been taken to expand Piped Natural Gas connections, and measures have been implemented to ensure power availability during the peak summer months. The government is also taking steps to maintain urea production, coordinate with overseas suppliers for DAP/NPKS, and request state governments to curb black marketing, hoarding, and diversion of fertilizers. The retail prices of food commodities have been stable over the past one month, and control rooms have been set up for constant monitoring and interaction with states/UTs on prices and enforcement of the Essential Commodities Act.
