GGM Science College Felicitates NCC Cadet for Int’l Representation under Youth Exchange Prog

Jammu : Government Gandhi Memorial (GGM) Science College, Jammu, felicitated its distinguished NCC cadet, Senior Under Officer (SUO) Rajveer Singh, for his remarkable achievement of representing India at the international level through the prestigious Youth Exchange Programme (YEP) Nepal, bringing immense pride and recognition to the institution.

Rajveer Singh’s journey from a small village in R.S. Pura to international representation exemplifies perseverance and dedication to national service. After completing his Class XII, he aimed to join the armed forces and took the National Defence Academy (NDA) examination. Although he passed the written test, he faced a setback by being conference-out during the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview. Instead of being discouraged, Rajveer transformed this adversity into an opportunity by enrolling at GGM Science College and joining the National Cadet Corps (NCC), which allowed him to serve the nation and develop leadership skills. Through hard work and determination, Rajveer distinguished himself among his peers, representing the Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh (JK&L) Directorate at prestigious national-level camps such as the Thal Sainik Camp (TSC) and the Republic Day Camp (RDC). His exemplary performance and leadership during the Republic Day Camp led to his selection for the Youth Exchange Programme, where he represented India in Nepal. This achievement not only highlights his individual excellence but also reflects the strong training culture fostered by NCC and GGM Science College. The college administration, led by Principal Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta, expressed pride in Rajveer’s accomplishments, emphasizing that his journey illustrates how perseverance can turn challenges into success. His story serves as an inspiration for students to pursue their goals with determination despite setbacks. Rajveer was felicitated for his contributions and achievements in NCC, with ANO Lt. Dr. Devinder Kumar Sharma commending him for bringing honor to the institution and upholding the legacy of NCC.
