Srinagar: This week in Kashmir Horizon, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha made significant interventions aimed at strengthening Jammu & Kashmir’s learning, development, and professional ecosystem.

  1. LG Sinha Inaugurates ISTD Jammu Chapter: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday inaugurated the Jammu Chapter of the Indian Society for Training & Development (ISTD) at Government PG College for Women, Gandhinagar. The Lieutenant Governor congratulated the ISTD team on the new initiative and said the Jammu Chapter will play a key role in strengthening the learning and development ecosystem. He added that it will help position Jammu as a regional hub for training and professional development.
  2. LG Calls for Job Creation, Global Competitiveness: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha urged the ISTD Jammu Chapter to focus on job creation and entrepreneurship to make local talent globally competitive. He said the future holds both challenges and opportunities, stressing the need to prepare youth with relevant skills. The Lieutenant Governor highlighted that empowering individuals will be crucial to achieving India’s long-term development goals.
  3. Collaboration Key to J&K Growth, Says LG Sinha: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha emphasised the need for collaboration among stakeholders to address complex challenges and accelerate growth in Jammu & Kashmir. He directed institutions and organisations to build a strong professional community through networking, knowledge-sharing, and joint training programmes, adding that collective efforts are essential for inclusive development.
  4. Education Must Focus on Skills, Startups, Says LG: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said education should go beyond textbooks and prepare students for real-life challenges and opportunities. He stressed the importance of soft skills, research, entrepreneurship, and startup culture, calling for stronger academia-industry collaboration to drive transformation in the education sector.
  5. Skilled Human Resources Key to Future Growth, Says LG: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said trained and developed human resources are the most powerful drivers of change and progress. He highlighted the need to invest in skill development across sectors, including industry and agriculture, and urged stakeholders to train farmers in modern techniques to improve productivity and market linkages.
