Srinagar:Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday called upon entrepreneurs and distinguished personalities to strengthen key sectors in Jammu & Kashmir, making them more robust and humane, while addressing the ‘Big Impact Awards J&K 2026’ organised by 92.7 Big FM in Jammu.

The Lieutenant Governor said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is transitioning from a consumer-driven economy to a creator-driven ecosystem. He described India as an “innovation superpower,” emerging as a key force in shaping the global economy through sweeping reforms and a strong entrepreneurial base.

Highlighting the role of entrepreneurs, Sinha said the transformation in the industrial and business ecosystem is not coincidental but the result of bold policy reforms and sustained efforts by innovators. He praised Jammu & Kashmir’s entrepreneurs for converting crises into opportunities and demonstrating resilience in challenging circumstances. He also urged them to align with the Make in India vision by expanding production capacities and diversifying markets despite constraints such as raw material shortages.

The Lieutenant Governor also emphasised the role of education and technology in driving long-term growth. Referring to changes after the National Education Policy and the COVID-19 pandemic, he said stakeholders adapted swiftly by building digital education platforms, training teachers, and expanding virtual learning even in remote areas. He noted that technology integration and research-led innovation are shaping India’s emergence as a knowledge economy.

Calling for sustained effort, Sinha said innovation must be driven by persistence and determination rather than short-term gains. He urged citizens to contribute actively to nation-building amid rapid technological changes and global uncertainties. The Lieutenant Governor also suggested including the farming community in future editions of the awards and called on media platforms to support awareness campaigns under the NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyaan.

The event was attended by senior officials, representatives of 92.7 Big FM, and prominent citizens from various sectors, with the Lieutenant Governor felicitating awardees for their contributions.
