Ganderbal :A meeting of the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) was held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore to review the progress of Mission YUVA and approve loan applications under the scheme.

At the outset, the Additional District Development Commissioner briefed the meeting about the status of hiring SBDU/BHD Coordinators and the engagement of external trainers. He also shared details regarding the total number of cases sanctioned and disbursed under Mission YUVA so far.

The DC directed officials to speed up the recruitment process for vacant SBDU/BHD Coordinator posts to ensure smooth implementation of the programme at the ground level. He also stressed the need to increase the number of external trainers to strengthen capacity-building programmes for selected beneficiaries.

He instructed the Lead District Manager to improve the pace of sanctioning and disbursing cases so that selected applicants can start their ventures without delay.

Later, the Committee reviewed applications received under Mission YUVA in detail, assessing their eligibility, feasibility, and potential to generate employment and promote entrepreneurship in the district.

During the meeting, emphasis was laid on maintaining transparency, timely processing of cases, and providing support to deserving youth with viable business ideas. The DC highlighted the importance of coordination among departments and financial institutions for smooth implementation of the scheme.

After thorough scrutiny, the Committee approved 158 cases, enabling the applicants to avail financial and institutional support under Mission YUVA. Officials were directed to complete further formalities at the earliest so that approved cases can be disbursed without delay.

The meeting also stressed the need to create wider awareness about the scheme and ensure that more eligible youth benefit from it through active outreach.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Manzoor Ahmad, General Manager District Industries Centre, Lead District Manager, Assistant Director Employment, District Social Welfare Officer, and Nodal Officer JKEDI.
