Jammu : Police on Saturday said that it has seized three vehicles in Pulwama including 2 dumpers and one Tipper for being involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of Minerals.
In a statement issued here on Saturday Police said that during naka checking at Parigam by Police Post Newa, one tipper bearing registration No. JK04C-0971 was intercepted. Upon checking, the vehicle was found loaded with illegally extracted minerals. The tipper was seized on the spot and a case under FIR No. 43/2026 under relevant provisions of law has been registered at Police Station Pulwama. Investigation has been also initiated.
Meanwhile, during morning patrolling by Police Post Lassipora at Rambiar Nallah, two dumpers bearing registration Nos. JK03L-5703 and JK03K-6020 were found involved in illegal mining activities. Both vehicles were seized and a case under FIR No. 35/2026 under relevant provisions of law has been registered at Police Station Litter. Investigation in the case has been taken up. In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to curb illegal mining and appealed people to cooperate and report any such unlawful activities to the nearest police establishment.
