Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has solved two theft cases in Pulwama by arresting two accused and recovering stolen property.
In a statement issued here on Friday Police said that during the investigation of FIR Nos. 62/2026 and 67/2026, police utilised CCTV analysis and other technical methods to identify and apprehended the accused. The arrested have been identified as MohdLateef Pathan of Khansahib, Budgam, and Sahil Nissar Sheikh of Qamarwari. Upon interrogation, the accused confessed their involvement. Police recovered stolen property, including two calves and ₹1.30 lakh in cash. Two vehicles used in the crime—an auto (JK01AU-9241) and a Tata 207 (JK05B-2671)—were also seized. Another accused Waseem Sheikh, has been identified and is currently absconding. Efforts are underway to arrest him. Police said Mohd Lateef Pathan is a habitual offender with over 18 cases registered against him. Further investigation is in progress.
