Ramban :To foster entrepreneurship skills and promote self-employment among the youth, an Entrepreneurship Mela under Mission YUVA was organized Friday at Dak Bungalow Ramban.
The event was conducted under the direction of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan and presided over by Assistant Director Employment Amit Kumar.
As many as 250 youth, including students from different educational and technical institutes and individuals associated with different traders attended the Mela organised to generate awareness about Mission YUVA and other self-employment schemes while encouraging youth to explore entrepreneurship as a viable career option.
Stalls set up by successful local entrepreneurs and various government departments attracted significant attention. The stalls showcased innovative business models, locally manufactured products, besides providing valuable insights into self-employment avenues. The stakeholder departments also disseminated detailed information regarding various schemes under Mission YUVA and other livelihood initiatives.
The AD Employment elaborated in detail each aspect of Mission YUVA and its different initiatives. He highlighted the scheme’s objectives, benefits and implementation process, guiding the participants on how to effectively avail the benefits.
Lovepreet Singh from the Ministry of Labour and Employment highlighted the vision behind organizing the mela and elaborated on the objectives of the Employment Department in promoting entrepreneurship among youth. He emphasized the need for awareness, skill development and institutional support to build a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem.
A special session on Mission YUVA was conducted, wherein the application process was demonstrated and participants were guided on registration and availing benefits under the scheme.
A total of 45 youth were registered on the Mission YUVA App on the spot. The Branch Manager of local J&K Bank also delivered an informative lecture, highlighting the role of banking institutions in providing financial assistance and facilitating credit linkage for aspiring entrepreneurs under Mission YUVA.
As part of the programme, three beneficiaries were provided with sanction letters for establishing their business units. Additionally, successful entrepreneurs were felicitated for their achievements and contributions towards promoting entrepreneurship in the district.
