GDC Doda inaugurates e-Yantra Lab to promote innovation, technological learning

Doda :Government Degree College Doda on Wednesday witnessed the online inauguration of its e-Yantra Lab in the presence of Founder of the e-Yantra Project Prof. Kavi Arya; Principal of the college Dr.Javed Iqbal, besides the members of the e-Yantra team including Dr.Javed Iqbal Tramboo, Prof. Vijay Kumar (Team Leader), Prof. Manjeet Singh and Prof. Rahul Uttam and the college students.

The programme commenced with a formal welcome address by Prof. Kavi Arya, followed by an address by Principal Dr.Javed Iqbal. The College Principal described the establishment of the e-Yantra Lab as a transformative step under the flagship initiative of IIT Bombay. “The lab will not only enhance infrastructural capabilities but also foster innovation, problem-solving skills and hands-on learning among students, particularly those from rural and remote areas,” he emphasized. He encouraged students to actively engage, experiment and embrace challenges as part of their academic journey.

Prof. Kavi Arya shared valuable insights into the vision of the e-Yantra Project, emphasizing its role in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application and proposed the integration of academic credits for students undertaking e-Yantra courses.

“The lab offers a dynamic learning ecosystem offering exposure to emerging technologies such as robotics, Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI),said Prof. Vijay Kumar, Team Leader of the e-Yantra Lab,. He appreciated the enthusiasm and dedication of students in workshops and training sessions, urging them to continue exploring and innovating.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the support of the college administration, faculty and the e-Yantra team from IIT Bombay. Prof. Mansa Ram, Dr. Tanveer Hussain, Dr.WahiedKhawarBalwan, Prof. Tanveer Ahmed, Dr. Sandeep Kotwal and Dr. Mir Mohammad Masood also graced the occasion. The inauguration of the e-Yantra Lab marks a significant milestone for the institution, opening new avenues for innovation, research & skill development and preparing students to meet future technological challenges.
