Akshay Labroo hands over Nikshay Mitra cheque to DTO for  financial assistance to TB Patients

Srinagar, :Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, AkshayLabroo, who is also Chairman District Red Cross Society Wednesday  handed over a cheque amounting to Rs. 2.5 lakh to District Tuberculosis Officer for providing additional nutritional support to Tuberculosis (TB) patients (NikshayMitras) under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan of district Srinagar.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Aadil Fareed, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Tahir Sajad, District TB Officer, Dr Abdul Rouf, Block Medical Officer Hazratbal, Dr Abdul Majid, District Nodal Officer, Dr Mudasir and others concerned were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner underscored the importance of nutritional support as a critical component of TB treatment and recovery. He stated that the initiative reflects the District Administration’s commitment to providing holistic care to all affected individuals and urged all concerned officials to work with dedication and coordination to strengthen TB care services and improve treatment outcomes across Srinagar district.

The District Tuberculosis Officer expressed his gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner, highlighting the District Administration’s continued commitment. He further stated that Rs. 2.31 lakh was provided last year, followed by Rs. 2.5 lakh this year, which will significantly contribute towards achieving better treatment success rates and strengthening TB care in District Srinagar.

This assistance is in addition to Rs. 1,000 per month provided to TB patients during the TB treatment by the Central TB Division.
