Awantipora : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested three gamblers in Tral and also seized stake money from their possession.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday said that while acting on specific inputs about gambling activities in Tral, a police party of Police Station Tral headed by SHO Police Station Tral raided the specific spot and arrested the three gamblers who were identified as Jalal-ud-Din Sheikh S/O Ab Ahad R/O NowdalTral, Mohd Yousuf Shah S/O Mohd Akram Shah R/O Takiya Gulab Bagh and Imtiyaz Ahmad Mohand S/O Mohd Akram Mohand R/O Shair Abad Tral.
Officers have seized stake money of ₹11,450/- and playing cards from their possession. A case under FIR No. 31/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered in police station Tral besides which further investigation has been initiated.
In its statement Police also warned that people found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per the law, appealing therein general people to share inputs about the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
