Jammu : Director Agriculture Jammu, Anil Gupta  Tuesday chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the status and progress of the Digital Crop Survey (DCS) and to review the progress and expenditure under various departmental schemes. The meeting was held at the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Agriculture, Jammu, with participation of officers both in person and through virtual mode.

The review meeting was attended by SMS-RL and Divisional Nodal Officer Jammu Krishan Kant, Deputy Director Planning Mudassir Yaqoob Zargar, Accounts Officer Vriti Uppal, along with officers from the DCS, CSS and Planning Sections of the Directorate.

All Chief Agriculture Officers (CAOs) of Jammu Division, District Nodal Officers of DCS from Jammu and Kashmir UT and Divisional Nodal Officer Kashmir participated in the meeting through Video Conferencing.

During the meeting, it was noted that the Digital Crop Survey (DCS), a flagship initiative of the Government of India is currently exhibiting suboptimal performance across both the Jammu and Kashmir divisions. The Director emphasized the need to address implementation bottlenecks and directed all District and Divisional Nodal Officers to intensify efforts for improving the overall performance and timely completion of survey activities.

Detailed discussions were held on scheme-wise financial progress and the expenditure patterns under HADP, CSS, CAPEX and NABARD-funded projects. Emphasizing the importance of timely and optimal utilization of funds, the Director stressed strict adherence to financial rules and outcome-oriented implementation of schemes.

Highlighting the need for financial discipline, Anil Gupta directed the officers to work in close coordination with executing agencies to ensure timely submission of expenditure bills. He further issued clear instructions that all pending bills must be submitted by noon tomorrow. He also instructed all concerned officers to remain responsive and accountable for achieving targets within the stipulated timelines.
