Divisional Commissioner Jammu chairs Jammu Smart City Ltd.’s Board meeting

JAMMU, MARCH 24: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, who is also the Chairman of Jammu Smart City Limited today chaired the Board of Directors meeting reviewing the functioning and progress of different projects taken up by JSCL.

The meeting was attended by CEO JSCL, DC Jammu, VC JDA and senior officers from allied departments and executive agencies.

The meeting held threadbare discussions on the number of agenda items presented before the Board which included progress on the phase two of the Tawi River Front development project, construction of part b of phase 1 of the riverfront, Boating and Water Sports Centre at Tawi riverfront, construction of second phase of Oceanarium (Sea world) Aquarium cum Awareness Centre at Bagh-e-Bahu, construction of Waste to Wonder Park at Bhagwati Nagar including its maintenance and management, implementation of PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme in Jammu city besides other matters were ratified and approved.

The Divisional Commissioner sought the latest status of the ongoing development works and directed for their expeditious completion.

It was informed to the chair that the Waste to Wonder Park is expected to complete by June 2026, which will be a major attraction in Jammu while multiple multi story parking facilities are also being planned for decongestion of the city.

The Divisional Commissioner directed for formulating a meticulous plan for sharing of revenue, renting of commercial spaces for long term sustenance of the flagship projects being executed under Smart City mission.
