DC Budgam reviews arrangements for Vande Mataram @150 years celebrations

Budgam :In connection with the Commemoration of 150 years of the National Song VandeMataram (Special Phase) and the observance of ShaheediDiwas, District Administration Budgam Monday held a meeting under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Athar Aamir khan.

At the outset, it was informed that a series of activities will be held across the district from 23rd to 30th March 2026 as part of the Special Phase celebrations, aimed at commemorating the historic legacy of VandeMataram and paying rich tributes to the martyrs of the nation on ShaheediDiwas.

During the meeting, threadbare deliberations were held on ensuring the smooth and successful conduct of all scheduled programmes.

The DC highlighted the historic significance of the 150-year commemoration of VandeMataram, describing it as a powerful symbol of India’s freedom movement and national identity.

Stressing the importance of effective implementation, the DC directed all departments to ensure seamless coordination, proactive planning, and enthusiastic participation at all levels. He instructed officers to organize a wide range of activities including cultural programmes, patriotic events, awareness drives, student engagement initiatives, and community outreach programmes in all blocks and panchayats.

The DC further underscored the need to actively involve youth, educational institutions and civil society, so that the spirit of patriotism and national pride is carried to the grassroots. He reiterated that the celebrations should be inclusive, vibrant, and reflective of the collective aspirations of the people.

Reviewing the logistical arrangements, the DC directed the concerned departments to ensure adequate infrastructure, proper publicity, and smooth execution of all events.  He also stressed maintaining discipline and coordination to ensure that all programmes are conducted in a befitting manner.

On the Occasion, the DC said that such initiatives serve as a reminder of the country’s rich heritage, the sacrifices of freedom fighters, and the enduring values of unity and integrity.

He urged all stakeholders to work with dedication and commitment to make the Special Phase celebrations a grand success.

Meanwhile,  ShaheediDiwas was also observed by District officers in the conference hall of DC office complex  along with its observance in all educational institutions, offices, MCs, of the District with outmost zeal and enthusiasm.

The DC emphasised that the observance of ShaheediDiwas holds profound importance as it commemorates the supreme sacrifices of great freedom fighters, and called upon all departments to ensure that the day is observed with utmost respect, dignity, and patriotic zeal across the district.

Besides , ADC budgam, PO ICDS, all SDMs, ACD, ACP, DIO, District informatics Officer, CHO , and other district and sectoral officers were present in the meeting.
