Stresses cultural roots, spiritual values at Navreh celebrations in Jammu
Youth to transform UT into a developed region through determination, tradition
Calls for spiritual grounding and cultural continuity to achieve development goals
Jammu: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday said that Jammu and Kashmir has the potential to emerge as a vibrant cultural hub and a prosperous Union Territory, stressing that the realization of this vision hinges on the active role of the younger generation.
Addressing Navreh celebrations organised by the Kashmiri Pandit Sabha at Amphalla, the Lieutenant Governor urged youth to draw inspiration from the region’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage and work with determination to elevate Jammu and Kashmir among the country’s developed regions.
“Youth will not merely inherit India’s legacy but reshape it and propel it toward a developed, sustainable tomorrow,” he said, emphasizing the need for a strong and lasting connection with timeless traditions and values.
Highlighting the cultural and spiritual significance of Navreh and Navratri, Sinha described the festivals as an inner journey marked by discipline, prayer, and transformation. He said the nine days of Navratri inspire self-reflection and spiritual growth.
The Lieutenant Governor also elaborated on the four stages of devotion—listening to prayers, contemplation, internalization, and attaining samadhi—expressing hope that devotees experience spiritual fulfillment in their lives.
Invoking blessings of Maa Durga and Maa Sharika, he said their worship symbolises reverence to the primal source of energy, adding that sincere devotion leads to deeper understanding and insight.
Extending greetings on the occasion, Sinha expressed hope that the new year would usher in peace, prosperity, and renewed hope for all. On the occasion, the Lieutenant Governor felicitated Padma Shri awardee Brij Lal Bhat for his contributions.
Among those present were Padma Shri Dr S.P. Varma, Dr Ashok Bhan, member of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Principal Secretary Culture Brij Mohan Sharma, BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul, and other prominent citizens and officials.
