Dy CM pays tributes to former Speaker Shaheed Wali Mohammad Itoo

Kulgam :Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary Wednesday  visited DH PoraKulgam to pay rich tributes to former former Speaker of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and former Minister, Shaheed Wali Mohammad Itoo on his 32nd death anniversary.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Chief Minister described Shaheed Wali Mohammad Itoo as a visionary statesman and a grassroots leader who devoted his life to the welfare and upliftment of the people, particularly those belonging to marginalized and rural communities. He said that the late leader’s commitment to inclusive development, communal harmony and democratic values continues to serve as a guiding force for present and future generations.

The Deputy Chief Minister highlighted that Shaheed Wali Mohammad Itoo played a pivotal role in strengthening democratic institutions and maintaining close engagement with the public to address their grievances effectively. He added that the Government remains committed to carrying forward the legacy of people-centric governance and equitable development envisioned by the late leader.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, SakeenaItoo paid glowing tributes to the late leader and remembered his invaluable contribution towards the socio-economic development of the region.

She said that Shaheed Wali Mohammad Itoo dedicated his life to empowering people through education, social justice and responsive governance.

Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Satish Sharma; Advisor to Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani and other MLAs also spoke on the occasion and paid rich tributes to the late Leader.

MLA Pampore, Justice (Retd) Hasnain Masoodi; MLA Gulmarg, Peerzada Farooq Ahmad Shah; MLA Anantnag West, Abdul Majeed Larmi; MLA Anantnag East-Shangus, Reyaz Ahmad Khan; MLA Devsar, PeerzadaFeroze Ahmad; MLA Zainapora, Showkat Hussain Ganie; MLA Rajpora, Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Mir; MLA Uri, Dr. Sajjad Shafi; MLA Kokernag, Zafar Ali Khatana; senior officers of district administration and large number of locals were also present on the occasion.
