Bandipora : As part of the ongoing Jal Mahotsav Pakhwada being observed from March 8 to 22 under the Jal Jeevan Mission, a special awareness campaign titled “Mai Bhi Jal Rakshak” was organized in several high schools across District Bandipora on Monday.
The programme aimed to sensitize students about the importance of protecting local water sources, promoting water conservation practices, and encouraging young citizens to act as responsible custodians of water resources.
During the programme, officials and technical staff from the Jal Shakti Department conducted awareness sessions and practical demonstrations on water quality testing using Field Test Kits (FTKs).
Students were educated about safe drinking water standards, the significance of regular water testing, and the need to conserve water for future generations.
The campaign was conducted by Education Department Bandipora in collaboration with the Jal Shakti Department including Hydraulic Division Bandipora, PHE Division Sopore and SSD Gurez.
The initiative is part of a series of activities being carried out across the district during Jal Mahotsav Pakhwada to strengthen community participation, promote sustainable water management, and reinforce the vision of “Har Ghar Jal” under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
