Bandipora : Continuing its intensified campaign against substance abuse, the District Administration Bandipora on Monday organized a series of IEC (Information, Education and Communication) awareness programmes at multiple locations across the district under the ongoing NashaMukht Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan.
The awareness programmes were conducted at Panchayat Halqas including Chittibanday-C (Bandipora Block), Kehnusa (Aloosa Block), GundporaRampora (Arin Block), Boothu (Bonakoot Block), Chandergheer (Hajin Block), Naidkhai-D ( Naidkhai Block), Rakhi Shilvat (Sumbal Block), Rakhi Asham (Nowgam Block) and Odina-B (Ganastan Block).
A multi-departmental team comprising officials and resource persons from Health, Police, Education, Social Welfare, Youth Services & Sports, JKNRLM and other concerned departments participated in the programmes.
During the sessions, the resource persons delivered awareness lectures highlighting the harmful effects of drug abuse, preventive strategies and the role of families and communities in tackling the menace of substance abuse. The speakers also stressed the importance of collective responsibility in building a drug-free society.
The programmes witnessed active participation from students, youth and local residents, who interacted with the officials and expressed their commitment to support the ongoing campaign.
On the occasion, Participants were encouraged to remain vigilant and spread awareness about the ill effects of drugs in their respective areas.
