Baramulla : In preparation for the upcoming Census of India 2027, a three-day training programme for Charge Officers commenced Monday at the main meeting hall of DC Office Baramulla for Phase–I (House Listing and Housing Census – HLO).

The training is being conducted by the Principal Census Officer in collaboration with the District Administration Baramulla.

The training programme was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Syed Altaf Hussain Musvi; Chief Planning Officer, Nissar Ahmad; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Arshad Ahmad Khan; SDM Uri, Prince Kumar; SDM Pattan, Gulzar Ahmad; SDM Gulmarg, National Level Master Trainers, and tehsildars from all tehsils of district Baramulla and officials associated with the census operations from across the district.

The training programme aimed to equip Charge Officers with the necessary knowledge and technical skills required for the smooth and efficient conduct of the House Listing and Housing Census, which forms the first and foundational phase of the national census exercise.

During the training sessions, master trainers and experts provided detailed orientation on various aspects of the census operations including roles and responsibilities of Charge Officers, use of digital enumeration platforms, supervision mechanisms, field verification procedures, and data quality assurance protocols.

The participants were familiarized with the formats, schedules, and instructions prescribed for the House Listing and Housing Census (HLO).

The training programme will further continue for three days, during which demonstrations and interactive sessions will be conducted to ensure that the officers gain a comprehensive understanding of the census methodology and operational framework.
