Arrangements for upcoming religious festivities reviewed at Ganderbal

Ganderbal : To review preparations for the upcoming religious occasions of Shab-e-Qadr, Eid-ul-Fitr, Navroz, Navratri and Ramnavmi, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Ganderbal, Syed Fahim Bihaqi Monday chaired a meeting of officers, here.

The meeting focused on ensuring coordinated and efficient arrangements for the smooth observance of these religious occasions across the district.

The ADC emphasized that all departments must work in close coordination and ensure that necessary facilities are put in place well in advance on the auspicious occasions of Shab-e-Qadr,  Eid-ul-Fitr, Navroz, Navratri and Ramnavmi.

He directed the concerned departments to ensure proper arrangements for traffic regulation, parking, sanitation, street lighting, drinking water, power supply and healthcare services, particularly at major mosques, shrines, temples and other places of large gatherings.

Reviewing the preparedness of various departments, the ADC stressed uninterrupted power supply during the auspicious days and asked the concerned authorities to ensure adequate drinking water availability. Deployment of water tankers at prominent religious places was also directed to facilitate devotees.

Municipal Authorities and Rural Development Department were instructed to maintain cleanliness across the district including at congregation sites, Mosques, Shrines and Temples and ensure proper functioning of street lights at key locations. Municipal Council Ganderbal was also directed to place mobile convenience at appropriate place near Eidgah Ganderbal to facilitate public.

For smooth traffic management, the ADC directed the Traffic Police and ARTO to ensure availability of transportation to ferry devotees to religious places including Hazratbal, Jinab Sahib Soura besides others and prepare a comprehensive traffic and route plan, ensure proper regulation of vehicular movement.

They were also directed to arrange transport facilities from Wandhama Transit Camp to Kheerbhawani Temple for the convenience of devotees during Navratri and Ramnavami.

The Health Department was asked to establish first aid and medical camps equipped with staff, ambulances and essential medicines at main congregation places and major Shrines besides temples. The Fire and Emergency Services were directed to remain on alert and ensure round-the-clock readiness.

The ADC stressed all concerned officers to work with added zeal and utmost coordination for the seamless and hassle-free culmination of large congregations of Shab-e-Qadr, Eid-ul-Fitr, Navroz, Navratri and Ramnavmi across the district.

To prevent black marketing and hoarding, the ADC instructed enforcement teams to intensify market inspections and take strict action against violators, hoarders, while ensuring availability of quality, essential commodities.

The ADC urged all officers to work with added dedication and synergy to ensure smooth, peaceful and hassle-free observance of these important religious occasions across the district.

The meeting was attended by Sub-divisional Magistrate Kangan, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti; ARTO, Tehsildars, Assistant Director FCS&CA, officers of Fire & Emergency Services, Legal Metrology, Police and other concerned departments.
