First National Lok Adalat-2026 settles 2321 cases in Reasi

Jammu : The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Reasi, under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority successfully organised the 1st National Lok Adalat of the year 2026 in the district.

The Lok Adalat was inaugurated by DLSAA Chairman (Pr. District & Sessions Judge), Reasi Khalil Ahmad Choudhary. The inauguration ceremony was attended by several distinguished dignitaries, including Kumar Abhishek, Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Geeta Kumari, Chief Judicial Magistrate Reasi, Shivali Sharma, MunsiffReasi, Aastha Sharma, Addl. Spl. Mobile Magistrate Reasi, Vishal Jamwal, SDPO Reasi, Vijay Kumar Verma, ACD Reasi, Mohammad Ashraf Malik, AEE (HQ) PWD Reasi, Pawan Kumar Bogia, Executive Engineer PWD Reasi, Ajaz Shah, Superintending Engineer PWD Circle Reasi, Pawan Dev Singh, President Bar Association Reasi along with other executives of bar and bar members, Ms. RashiBaru, Chief LADC, DLSA Reasi along with their team of LADCs, staff members of Court Complex Reasi,  PLVs and litigants etc.

Sixteen benches constituted across the district took up 3,105 cases, out of which 2321 cases were disposed of amicably resulting in a settlement of Rs 1,06,01,019.

The cases disposed of included Matrimonial cases, NI Act cases, Civil Cases, Criminal Compoundable cases, Bank recovery cases, Pre-litigation cases etc.

The National Lok Adalat aimed to provide a platform for amicable settlement of disputes, promoting justice and reducing pending cases. The DLSA Reasi has achieved the objective by settling a significant number of cases through the LokAdalat.

Besides this, an exhibition of Handicrafts /Vocational Training Products was also organized in collaboration with the Department of Handicrafts, Reasi. The exhibition was attended by the advocates, staff members of different Courts of District Court Complex Reasi, PLVs of DLSA Reasi and litigants.

The Bench number-1 was presided over by Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Reasi along with Pooja Gupta, Secretary DLSA Reasi as bench member.
