Pulwama,: Government Degree College (GDC) Pulwama organized a series of extension lectures under the aegis of the DBT STAR College Scheme on March 12, 2026, in the college auditorium.
The program started by the welcome and opening remarks by the Principal, Dr. Bashir Ahmad Sheikh who in his address highlighted the importance of such kind of programs besides regular class room teaching. The first lecture was delivered by Professor Kowsar Majid from NIT Srinagar on the topic “Scientific Temper, Ethics and Responsibility in the Modern World.”
The speaker emphasized the importance of scientific thinking, ethical conduct, and responsibility towards our environment. The speaker for the second talk was Dr. Syed Sajad Hussain from IIIM Srinagar. He took the audience through the process of drug development and then related it with his research talk titled “Development of a Phytopharmaceutical for the Management of Sickle Cell Anaemia,”
The program was attended by the faculty members and students who actively engageed with the speakers making the program interactive. The program was conducted by Dr. Shah Ubaidullah, Coordinator DBT Star College and vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Niyaz Naikoo, Head Department of Biotechnology.
