Budgam :Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan Thursday  conducted a visit to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Khansahib to review the functioning of the healthcare facility and later chaired a Public Darbar at the SDM Office Complex Khansahib to interact with the general public and listen to their grievances.

During the visit to the hospital, the DC inspected various sections of the hospital and took stock of the healthcare facilities being provided to the patients. He also reviewed the progress of the under-construction additional block of SDH Khansahib.

The DC interacted with the medical staff and emphasized the need for maintaining high standards of patient care, hygiene, and timely medical services.

He directed the concerned officers to ensure the availability of essential medicines, proper functioning of medical equipment, and improved patient facilities at the hospital. He also stressed the importance of strengthening healthcare delivery at the grassroots level so that quality medical services are accessible to the people of the area.

Following the hospital visit, the DC chaired a Public Darbar at SDM Office Khansahib.

The darbar witnessed participation of a large number of residents from different areas of the sub-division including Khansahib, Arigam, Asthan Mohalla, Waterhail, Shinnipora and other adjoining villages.

Addressing the gathering, the DC emphasised the need for 100 percent saturation of Government welfare schemes, ensuring that the benefits of various flagship programmes reach every eligible beneficiary without any exclusion.

During the interaction, the locals raised various issues and put forth suggestions related to development of playfields for youth, construction and upgradation of link roads, improvement in drinking water supply, strengthening of irrigation facilities, upgradation of schools, and ensuring uninterrupted power supply in several areas.

The DC patiently listened to the grievances and assured the public that all genuine issues and demands would be addressed in a time-bound manner. He directed the concerned officers to take immediate note of the issues raised and work in a coordinated manner for their prompt redressal.

The DC further directed all officers of the district to frequently visit different areas and provide real-time solutions to the genuine demands of the public.

He instructed the ACD Budgam to identify land for playfields so that every Panchayat has its own playing facility. He also emphasized that officers must maintain close liaison with the public to ensure better education and awareness regarding various social security and employment generation schemes of the Government.

On the occasion, a plantation drive was also conducted in the sub-division to promote environmental sustainability. Additionally, certificates were distributed among beneficiaries under various Government schemes.

The DC reiterated that the District Administration is committed to responsive governance and ensuring that development initiatives effectively reach every corner of the district.

Among others, Programme Officer ICDS, Chief Planning Officer Budgam, SDM Khansahib, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Education Officer, Chief Medical Officer, and several other district and sectoral officers were present on the occasion.
