Growing number of madrasa students observe I’tikaf, dedicating the sacred days of Ramzan to prayer and devotion

G’bal : In a notable display of spiritual devotion during the holy month of Ramzan, more than 100 girls have entered I’tikaf at Madrasa Fatimah-ul-Zehra in the Sindhbal Peerpora area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, dedicating the last ten days of the month to prayer, reflection and religious learning.

The participants, mostly students of the madrasa, will spend the final Ashra of Ramzan in seclusion within the premises, engaging in continuous prayers, recitation of the Holy Quran and other acts of worship associated with the practice of I’tikaf.

Teachers and organisers at the madrasa said the number of girls observing I’tikaf has witnessed a noticeable increase this year, reflecting a growing inclination among young students towards spiritual practices and Islamic teachings during the sacred month.

They said necessary arrangements have been made to ensure a peaceful, disciplined and spiritually focused environment for the participants throughout the period of seclusion.

Local residents and parents have welcomed the initiative and appreciated the madrasa management for providing a supportive space for young girls to devote themselves to worship and reflection during the most sacred days of Ramzan.
