Athar calls for time bound Grievance Redressal, takes stock of facilities at SDH Shangus

Ganderbal : To address the concerns and grievances of the local community and ensure efficient public service delivery, the District Development Commissioner(DDC) Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiud Din Bhat Wednesday  convened a Public Durbar and outreach cum grievance redressal camp, at Shangus.

The program was attended by ADC, CPO, ACD, CMO, CAO, CEO, AD FCS&CA, Principal PTC, FM DIC, BMO, Tehsildar & BDO Shangus, AEEs PDD, PHE & R&B, CDPO, TSWO, TSO, officials from various other departments besides SHG, civil society & ex PRI members and the general public.

During the program, the DDC gave a patient hearing to the residents who raised issues pertaining to road connectivity, healthcare services, irrigation and borewell schemes, provision of electric poles, school upgradation, creation of new government institutions, land compensation, among others.

The demands included macadamisation of remaining 1 Km Nowgam-Tailwan road by R&B, pending land compensation for land donors on NowgamKullul and NowgamAndoo roads, pending MGNREGA material component, upgradation of High School to Higher Secondary in ST area Andoora, pending rent from Army Depot Khundru, construction of KullulIsus bridge, developing waste dumping sites, specialist doctors & OT for SDH Shangus, adherence to power curtailment schedule, floor protection bands on Aripat Nallah, upgradation of AchabalChattabal road.

Construction of ChattabalWadwan&Nowgam to Bochan roads & remaining part of Bradiangan to Halan road, sustainable irrigation source & ITI for the area, provision of electric poles, creation of Panchayat HalqaSheikhgundWangam, clean water supply for Bradiangan, connectivity & teaching staff in upper areas, development & promotion of Daethnag, Kuthaernag&Andoo as tourist sites, Community Hall at Shangus , canteen for SDH Shangus, reconstruction of road at BakwathShangusMattan bridge damaged by recent floods, operationalisation of Gujjar Hostel Shangus and preservation of Daethnag spring.

Addressing the gathering, the DDC re-tierated the district administration’s commitment to the time-bound resolution of all genuine grievances, assuring that major issues would be taken up with the suitable authorities and minor be immediately resolved by concerned departments.

Dr. Bilal issued directions to Tehsildar and BDO Shangus to conduct field survey in consultation with the locals for identification of suitable land for dumping sites. ACD and BDO were directed to visit the tribal habitations and critical areas for redressal of grievances regarding clean water supply for projection of works in Capex as immediate relief.

The DDC issued directions to PDD to strictly adhere to the curtailment schedule and immediately resolve the genuine concerns about electricity bills and electric poles. R&B, PMGSY and Revenue authorities were directed to process the pending compensation claims under rules.

Concerned officers were further asked to project construction of necessary roads in relevant scheme as per guidelines along with the early restoration of damaged road patch at Balwath bridge. Also directions for exploring the possibilities of developing sustainable irrigation source for the area and expediting work on alternate source of water supply at Bradiangan were issued to the concerned.

The DDC further directed the I&FC officials to project suitable flood mitigation works for Aripat Nallah in relevant scheme for effective flood protection. He instructed the RDD department to ensure advance publicity of Gram Sabhas so that all villagers participate in grassroot planning and governance.

Appreciating the public for raising citizen related issues, the DDC said it is heart warming to know the locals have positive ideas on development, education, health, drug de-addiction, sanitation, cleanliness and other important matters.

Earlier, the officials of various departments imparted awareness to the participants about respective beneficiary oriented schemes, online services and welfare initiatives.

Local public and civil society members hailed the initiative hoping such programs will continue for their overall welfare and community development.

Later, the DDC accompanied by ADC, CMO and BMO visited SDH Shangus and inspected various sections of the hospital. He also interacted with the medical staff, registration officials besides patients and attendants and took stock of healthcare facilities available.
