DC Budgam reviews progress under HADP, JKCIP in distt

Over 6,000 units established under HADP, 589 units completed under JKCIP

Budgam :Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan Wednesday  reviewed the progress achieved under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and Jammu & Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement Project (JKCIP) in the district.

During the meeting, the DC conducted a detailed department-wise review of applications received, approvals, units established and funds released under various components of the programmes.

It was informed that under HADP a total of 42,168 applications have been received across departments including Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Horticulture, Horticulture Planning & Marketing, Sericulture and Sheep Husbandry.

The review revealed that 6,188 units have been established during the financial year 2025–26, taking the cumulative number of units established in the district to 12,809.

Department-wise figures indicate that Agriculture department has established 3,507 units during the year while Animal Husbandry department has established 1,610 units. Similarly, 491 units have been established by Horticulture department, 507 by Sheep Husbandry, 23 by Fisheries, 40 by Sericulture and 10 by Horticulture Planning & Marketing.

The meeting also reviewed the status of JKCIP implementation in the district. It was informed that 12,287 registrations have been made for various activities under the scheme, out of which 8,856 cases have been approved by the District Level Committee.

Further, 608 units have been taken up for establishment under JKCIP and 589 units have been completed so far.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC directed the concerned departments to expedite the processing of pending applications and ensure timely establishment of approved units so that the benefits of the schemes reach the intended beneficiaries.

He emphasized effective coordination among departments and stressed on maximizing the impact of HADP and JKCIP to strengthen livelihood opportunities and boost the agriculture and allied sectors in the district.

Besides, CPO budgam Javaid Ahmad Najar, CAO Budgam, CHO Budgam, CAHO Budgam, Officials from various agriculture and allied departments were present during the meeting.
