Jammu :Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu AnsuyaJamwalWednesday  convened a meeting to review the arrangements for the Eid celebration tentatively scheduled on March 21.

The ADC took a detailed review of the preparations, emphasising the importance of making foolproof arrangements for uninterrupted civic amenities. She directed the Jammu Municipal Corporation to ensure cleanliness and illumination in and around Eidgahs, prominent mosques and other areas of festivity.

The ADC inquired about the measures taken by the stakeholder department for seamless water supply. She directed for completing any pending infrastructure repairs, such as fixing leaking pipes, promptly. Furthermore, the deployment of water tankers at major congregation sites was mandated.

The Power Development Department was explicitly directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the festival days, particularly during prayer timings, to avoid any inconvenience to the devotees.

Traffic Police was asked to formulate a comprehensive traffic management plan. The ADC emphasised the timely clearing of stranded vehicles and the regulated movement of Rehris in festive market zones to prevent traffic snarls.

Reviewing safety protocols, the ADC instructed the Fire and Emergency Services to maintain maximum readiness and deploy fire tenders at strategic locations. The Health Department was directed to ensure the availability of critical medical facilities and the active deployment of emergency response teams at major congregation sites.

Asking for strict market regulations, the ADC directed the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs and Legal Metrology departments to constitute joint market checking squads to conduct rigorous and continuous inspections to curb overpricing and irregularities in the sale of food items and meat products, while strictly enforcing cleanliness and hygiene standards.

The ADC also engaged with religious representatives, noting their local issues and suggestions and assuring them of timely resolutions and full cooperation from the district administration.

The meeting was attended by Sub Divisional Magistrate Jammu North, Dr. Deepak Kumar; SDM South, Manu Hansa; Assistant Commissioner General, Sania Haq Khan; Superintendent of Police Jammu North, Vivek Shekhar; Tehsildar Jammu North, Aman Kumar Anand; besides other senior officers and prominent religious heads.
