The prestigious competition witnessed participation from 59 universities across the country at the group level. After rigorous rounds, eight premier universities from different zones qualified for the national stage. In the final round of the Group Level National Youth Parliament Competition, the KU outperformed all participating teams and emerged as the overall champion, bringing laurels to the institution and the region.

Congratulating the students, Vice-Chancellor KU, Prof.  Nilofer Khan said, “This outstanding achievement reflects the intellectual strength, awareness and democratic spirit of our students. Their performance shows that the youth of Kashmir are capable of engaging meaningfully with national institutions and parliamentary traditions. The University is proud of this historic accomplishment.”

As part of the recognition, 55 students from the varsity will now be invited by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs to attend the prize distribution ceremony to be held within the Parliament of India in New Delhi. During the ceremony, the KU team will also present a re-performance of their Youth Parliament session in the presence of senior officials and dignitaries of the country.
