Elocution Competition on “Sadak Suraksha, Jeevan Raksha” held at GDC Bandipora

Bandipora  :College Road Safety Club in collaboration with the NSS Units of GDC Bandipora on Monday organised an Elocution Competition on the theme “Sadak Suraksha, Jeevan Raksha” Monday to promote awareness about road safety and responsible civic behaviour among students.

The programme was held under the guidance of Principal, Prof. Suresh Kumar Dogra and aimed at sensitising students about the importance of following traffic rules and adopting safe road practices.

Students from different semesters participated enthusiastically in the competition and expressed their views with confidence and conviction.

The participants highlighted various aspects of road safety including adherence to traffic rules, responsible driving, pedestrian awareness, and the collective role of citizens in preventing road accidents.

At the outset, convener of the Road Safety Club, delivered the welcome address and emphasised the importance of organising such awareness programmes in educational institutions. He urged students to act as responsible ambassadors of road safety in society.

The competition was adjudged by a jury, who evaluated the participants on the basis of content, clarity of expression, delivery and overall impact.

In the competition, Morifat Hafeez (6th Semester) secured the first position, Nazrana Ahsan (4th Semester) secured the second position, while Muzamil Manzoor (4th Semester) secured the third position. The winners will represent the college at the District-Level Competition scheduled on March 10, 2026.

The programme concluded with a renewed commitment towards promoting road safety awareness among the youth.
